Stu Duval
Stu Duval talked to us about his newest story the
Flax Cross. The story was about a boy called Red Macalister. His friend called
him potato boy for short. Red took a piece of bread from a baker who threw out
some stall pieces of bread. Red took the stall pieces of bread from the rubbish
bin and the baker came out and saw red
McAllister eating the stall bread.
Then he got sent to court then sent
to jail in Australia. They had to build their own jail, while he was building
he was recruited to build a house on top of a hill near the port. It was hard
for Red because he was treated badly and he had to lift heavy tiles under the
hot sun, so he decided to sneak onto a ship sailing to New Zealand.
